Fibre Continuity Relay
Fibre optic amplifiers are extensively used in industrial automation systems and manufactured by well known brands such as Omron, Honeywell, Keyence, Takex and Pepperl Fuchs. They are an economical mass produced product eliminating reliance on specific vendors. One relay is required per PyrOptic loop which may monitor anywhere from one to literally hundreds of connections!
Amplifier relays are very compact, around the same dimensions as a DIN terminal block, in fact most other temperature monitoring solutions in the market have larger field sensors. For really tight applications even smaller relays such as the ultra compact Takex F2R are available.
Standard lenses from the automation field can be used to hop the light signal between fibre cores, creating an air gap of up to 10m. In this way PyrOptic can be applied to equipment with practically any voltage rating. Hopping between optical cores also enables the connection between rotating and stationary loops. This opens the technology to applications like synchronous machine rotor pole interconnection temperature monitoring.
PyrOptic supply quality amplifiers and optical lens components.
